Gifts for “That Time of Year!”

9th November 2017
  • Drop of Heaven Migraine Kit – Gorgeous little item containing menthol balm, peppermint and almond oil, eye mask and an acupressure ring. Way better than Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to a migraine sufferer. If you want to find out more visit Sharshara.co.uk or watch this video:

  • Migrastick – Small but useful bullet-like sometimes-saviour! It contains peppermint and lavender essential oils. It cools, has a massaging effect and smells divine, but don’t put it too close to your eyes (trust me!) You can get the Migrastick in many good pharmacies, Holland and Barrett and Amazon.co.uk
  • Tea Gift Set – A cup of tea solves everything! Including migraine!! Teas such as peppermint, ginger, lavender earl grey, chamomile can help with stress, nausea and can help you to relax. A little box of tea-delights would make a lovely gift
  • Sunglasses or Migraine Glasses – If the bright flashing lights cause your loved-one pain then you could do worse by getting them a pair of specially made migraine glasses. Some can even be done with existing prescription lenses. Check out the following companies – Migralens, Thera Specs, Axon Optics, or even your local optometrist or a pair of good old-fashioned sunglasses from Boots which have Polarised lenses to cut the glare
  • Migracap – According to their website, this lovely, soothing item was developed by a migraine sufferer, and offers instant relief from the stress of a migraine headache. You literally leave it in the fridge or freezer between uses – no drugs, nothing. You can get the Migracap in Lloyd’s pharmacies, McDaid’s pharmacies, and again on Amazon.co.uk
  • Relaxation Therapy Session – A gift of a massage or acupuncture session will make many a migraine sufferer’s troubles seem out of sight. You could go to a therapist who specialises in the treatment of migraine and headache disorders, but anything that relaxes can be helpful.
  • A Book about Migraine – Oh where can I find one of them? I know, the Migraine Association of Ireland have one! A brilliantly written tome with helpful information and tips for sufferers, family members and medical practitioners alike. It costs €15.25 including P & P from the site
  • Membership of an Association – You can give the gift of membership from the MAI. We will even do a personalised and laminated gift certificate – €30 online (€10 for a student or OAP)
