As part of Brain Awareness Week 2018 (March 5th – 11th), we are delighted to announce a Specialist Seminar on Hormonal Migraine in Women which will take place on International Women’s Day, March 8th 2018.
Many migraines in women can be triggered by hormonal changes in the body at various stages of their reproductive lives. This seminar will explain why and how hormonal migraines occur and what medical and nutritional options can help alleviate the symptoms and possibly reduce the number of migraines experienced.
Esther Tomkins is a Clinical Nurse Specialist from The Migraine Clinic in Beaumont Hosptial and she has indepth knowledge of established and emerging therapies and treatments for migraine. Esther will explain why migraines occur at different stages of women’s reproductive lives and she will describe what medical options are available to women from puberty through pregnancy and menopause.
Ciara Wright PhD will show us the evidence on nutritional support for hormonal balance and explain how your food choices can have a major impact. Simple nutritional changes can be used to influence your mood and wellbeing. These changes can also support a decrease in hormonally-triggered symptoms. Ciara will give us an understanding behind how nutrition can help balance your hormone levels and translate this into simple and achievable changes you can incorporate into your daily life.
Ciara Wright PhD is Director and Senior Nutritionist with Glenville Nutrition. With clinics nationwide, Glenville Nutrition are Ireland’s leading nutritionists and specialise in women’s health, fertility and hormonal balance. Ciara has extensive clinical experience helping women to support their hormonal health, from puberty to menopause and beyond.
The event will take place in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, from 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm. It is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.
