National Clinical Programme for Neurology launched
The Migraine Association of Ireland welcomes the launch of a detailed framework to guide the development of neurology services in Ireland. The model of care, launched on 27th September 2016 by the National Clinical Programme for Neurology, provides a comprehensive blueprint for the design and delivery of neurology services in acute hospitals and the ongoing management of the needs of people with neurological conditions in the community.
The Model of Care takes into account the multidisciplinary approach needed to address the complex needs of those living with chronic migraine. MAI looks forward to partnering with the multidisciplinary teams as the headway pathway is implemented. MAI was pleased to engage with the Neurology Programme in developing the headache pathway, voicing the issues and concerns of those living with migraine and other headache disorders.
