I have been suffering with migraine for over 10 years, attacks are definitely related to my menstral cycle. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago and never looked back since being prescribed triptans. Zomig works for me with the least side affects.
I have been having acupuncture and taking Chinese herbs for about 6 months now and was finding the attacks had become less frequent. However I went to India for 3 weeks in February and suffered almost daily attacks, mostly starting in the early evenings. The temperature averaged about 30 degrees, I was careful not to over expose myself to the sun and did wear a hat. This was so frustrating as normally I love hot weather. I had to get extra supplies of zomig posted out to me...
Has anyone found migraine attacks to be more frequent on sun holidays?

Recent research from the US has shown that migraine can be triggered by exposure to high temperatues. Anecdotally, we've known that sufferers say changes in air pressure (around the turn of the seasons), high temperatures and sun glare triggered migraine. And this recent research has proven this. The study looked at those attending A&E with headaches and took account of the environmental factors on each particular day. It was found that on warm days, the number of headache patients increased. We'd advise those susceptible to drink lots of fluids, stay cool and keep out of the sun at the hottest part of the day is possible.
